Tiv language is one of the major languages of Nigeria. It is widely spoken in 6 states of Nigeria (Benue, Nasarawa, Taraba, Cross River, Niger, and Abuja) as well as in Cameron. There are also Tiv speakers across the world in America, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, France, Spain, etc. totaling about 15 million speakers. Tiv language has Bantu origin from the Congo. Tiv is a tonal language and so words may have multiple meanings depending on the intonation.
