Western Yugur is a Northeastern Turkic language descended from the Old Uyghur language. It has 4,600 native speakers. Despite its name, there is no direct relation between the Western Yugur language and the Mongolic Eastern Yugur language, nor with the Karluk Turkic Modern Uyghur language.
